What You Need To Know About Long Distance Access Codes

Customers can take advantage of lower rates and new services from different long distance providers by using a telephone access code. An access code is a seven (7) digit number (10 - 10 - xxx) that you dial to reach your selected provider. Access codes can save you money, but you must know how to use them wisely.

Utilizing an access code does not change your preferred long distance carrier. You will likely get a bill from the company providing the access code in addition to a bill from your preferred long distance provider. Ask how you will be billed

Charges

Ask the company's customer service representative about this.

Monthly charges may continue even if you are not using the access code. If you no longer use the code, call the company and tell them you want to stop the service. Ask them to stop billing you.
